Revelation 22:17 (ESV)
17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

Sometimes we think we must be an expert in order truly to help someone. We’re afraid that we’ll do more harm than good. We fear that we’ll get into something we won’t know how to deal with. Perhaps we’ll discover that more is required of us than we can give once we start; we’ll not be able to walk away, but the challenges will remain.
Truth be told, however, most often the fear has more to do with our comfort and security than it has to do with the need of others. When God gives us the opportunity to do good, we must do it (Proverbs 3:27). He’ll see that we are able to complete the good work to which he calls us. He has even prepared the good works in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
In fact it is not only the experienced, fully-developed disciple who is to invite others to come to Jesus. Even those who are being invited are to invite others. The Church (bride) and the Holy Spirit invite people to come and find the water of life. So too are those being invited: They are to say, “Come.” God offers us the priceless gift of the water of life.
Prayer: Thank you, Holy Spirit, for the water of life. Open my eyes to see someone who needs this gift as well, and invite them to satisfy their thirst with this same water; through Christ my Lord. Amen.
