Light from the Word and through the lens

Today the people of God at St. John voted to build a new worship center (architect’s renderings below). We do so with the conviction that God has led us to this time and place, and that we will follow Him into the future according to his will. This is our intent. It seems clear that it is God’s will to undertake this project. A large attendance at the voters meeting and a nearly unanimous vote to proceed is testimony to our resolve. Now, God willing, we begin the process. Financing has been secured. Plans are being finalized. Work will soon begin. And the refrain continues, “May the name of the Lord be praised!”

I am particularly thankful for the work that has been done by all involved in the capital stewardship campaign, the campus facilities development team, and the leadership of St. John. Most of all I am thankful to God for His faithfulness and generosity to us and the opportunity to serve Him in this manner.

Though we do not know what tomorrow will bring, we move into the future confident of God’s guidance and blessing. It is our intent to build this beautiful structure for the glory of His name and the blessing of the people of northwest Harris County.

It’s beautiful. I can’t wait to see the finished product in person.
