John 17:1-5
1When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

In his High Priestly Prayer (recorded here in John 17) Jesus speaks of his eternal glory and eternal life. Jesus possessed glory with the Father before the world began. He laid aside that glory to dwell among us – else we could not have even looked upon him. He was soon to take it up again. Through him – in all his glory – comes eternal life.
One way to think about eternal life is to think of an endless supply, a constantly-renewed delivery – such as water flowing over a waterfall. With Jesus the life just keeps on coming. There is a never-ending supply. He won’t run out. This endless supply of life comes from Jesus Christ, who has all authority and who is worthy of all glory.
Imagine refreshing yourself eternally with the abundance of life that flows from Jesus Christ! Renew your soul daily with that precious gift of life that comes from Jesus. Rejoice in this gift and acknowledge Jesus as worthy of all glory and honor – now and forever!
