Jeremiah 31:3
[The Lord speaking to Israel:] “I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”

Jeremiah the prophet spoke these words to Israel in God’s behalf. He testified to God’s love that extended back to the time before they were in exile and would extend into the future when they would be brought back to their own country.
God’s love is an everlasting love: from eternity to eternity. When we think of God’s love we may not consider that God’s love has accompanied us into whatever situation we face. If we are in a place of pain or disappointment, God’s love accompanies us. His love accompanies us when we are in places of joy and blessing. As we face uncertain tomorrows God’s love will be the constant. When our future is obviously bright we can rely on God’s love.
God’s love is eternal; it predates these moments and days and it will go on beyond every tomorrow. When you face this today, do so with the confidence that you are a beloved daughter or the beloved son of God. You are not in any bind that God’s love does not span, nor are you experiencing any favor that His love does not shape.
You did not arrive at this moment apart from God’s love; you will not face any tomorrow without God’s love. That is why we can always live in hope.
