Light from the Word and through the lens

This photo was taken with my iPhone. It’s not much in image quality technically-speaking, but it says a lot to me. Consider this:

Psalm 113:3

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

It’s a daily ritual: the sun sets, they ring a bell, and the people (at least some of us) applaud. For our part, we are applauding the handiwork of God. Others may not be aware of Who they are applauding. God is the creator of all things. He makes the sun set and rise. He causes the colors to be cast across the sky. We can ignore this. We can miss the deeper truth of His handiwork and still sit in awe of the raw beauty. But we miss the point if we do.

God is worthy of all priase. He is the creator who loves us and has saved us, and will eternally sustain us with his love and creative grace. May the name of the Lord be praised!
